by default RIPv2 and EIGRP perform automatic network summarization at classful
boundaries, just like a classful protocol does. Automatic summarization lets RIPv2 and EIGRP be backward
compatible with their predecessors, RIPv1 and Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (IGRP).
